Happy Women's Day! Inspirational women in the world today

Hello friends! Happy International Women's Day! To honor this day, I've created a list of inspiring women who are changing the world today. (This is a short list of only three people - I threw this together kinda last minute sorry!)

Malala Yousafzai

"If one man can destroy everything, why can’t one girl change it?"
At eleven years old, Malala Yousafzai started speaking out publicly about girl's education rights. This caused her to become a target for the Taliban. When she was fifteen, she was shot in the face. Fortunately, she escaped and is still speaking up for girl's rights today. She is the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize. If you read my February recap, you know that last month, I read I am Malala. Very inspirational - if you haven't read it, you definitely should!

Greta Thunberg

"So instead of looking for hope, look for action. Then, and only then, hope will come."

Climate change activist Greta Thunberg first started climate strikes when she was 15 years old. She started a movement called Fridays for Future. Although she is only 21 years old, she has written several books! Greta has raised awareness of climate change and is making a difference around the world right now!

Yulia Navalnaya

"I do not hope, I believe."

Yulia Navalnaya may be less well-known than the other people on this list, but she definitely deserves a place here. Her husband, Alexei Navalny, was arrested for speaking against the government. After being poisoned, imprisoned, and tortured, Navalny was finally killed last month. Yulia has shown bravery and courage by continuing her husband's work and speaking against Putin. She is a very admirable woman!

Who else should be on the list?

Who are some inspiring women in your life or in the world? Share them in the comments below - I'd love to hear them 😊

See you around!
